Aeroflot, S7 and Ural Airlines has completed the settlement process for Boeing and Airbus aircraft

Aeroflot Group has completed the settlement process for 28 aircraft with several groups of lessors between 14 and 21 December.

“In accordance with the agreements reached, the lessors terminated their claims against the Russian parties in respect of these aircraft both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements with PJSC Aeroflot, LLC Pobeda Airlines and JSC Rossiya Airlines.” The ownership of the aircraft was transferred to the insurance company LLC Insurance Company NSC, which paid the settlement amounts,” Aeroflot said.

The airline continues negotiations on settlement of existing claims also with other lessors of foreign-made aircrafts.

S7 Airlines has finalised a settlement deal with a group of foreign lessors involving insurance company IC NSC LLC for 45 medium-haul aircraft, accounting for almost 50% of the airline’s fleet, and four aircraft engines.

“S7 Airlines continues to negotiate the settlement of aircraft relationships with the airline’s other foreign lessors. In these negotiations, as in the deal just finalised, the airline is receiving comprehensive legal support from the law firm Better Chance,” the airline said.

Ural Airlines has also finalised the insurance settlement process for 19 Airbus family aircraft with AerCap Group and legal entities managed by AerCap Group.

In accordance with the agreements reached, lessors AerCap, ALC, SMBC Aviation Capital have terminated their claims against the Russian parties, both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements entered into with S7 Airlines and Ural Airlines.
