The automated test control system for testing the reversing device of the PD-8 aircraft engine was developed by specialists of JSC Proton-PM. The project was realised by order of JSC Perm Plant Mashinostroitel, which manufactures the reversing device and tests it for performance. This was reported in the press service of Proton-PM.
“For half a year specialists of Proton-PM designed and mounted the system. In May this year they started commissioning works, and at the end of June they handed over the product to the customer for pilot operation. Acceptance tests were completed in November. Within the framework of the project, the modified version of the Orion-MS information-computing complex was approved and entered into the State Register of Measurement Devices,” the company said.
Proton-PM’s test base includes 40 test control systems for rocket engines and gas turbine units, as well as their assemblies. All systems are developed by the enterprise itself. Customers are such large companies as ODK-Perm Motors and Perm Powder Plant.
The test control system of the PD-8 aircraft engine reversing device allows to automatically control the test bench actuators, display test parameters in real time on mnemonic diagrams, register and process measurement information, as well as generate protocols. The Mashinostroitel plant is already testing samples of the reversing device using the new product. Thanks to this system, the tests become more accurate, reliable and efficient, and the influence of the human factor on the testing process is minimised.
During the development of the system, attention was paid to ease of use and data storage for later analysis. The product’s user interface is as intuitive and easy to use as possible, allowing operators to quickly get to grips with the system. It also ensures that all data is stored, allowing for detailed analysis and optimising the testing process in the future.
Earlier, the Perm Krai Business Council approved the assignment of the priority investment project status to the expansion of the production facility for manufacturing the reversing device and components of the PD-8 twin-circuit turbojet engine. The project envisages construction of a new workshop and equipping it with specialised equipment. Investment investments amount to more than 2 billion roubles. 28% of them are Mashinostroitel’s own funds. Gradually, the Perm plant plans to reach the production level of up to 44 reversing devices per year.
