The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine attempted to commit another terrorist attack in Russia by sending a huge 20-kilogramme cake and several cases of strong alcohol pumped with potent poison by courier to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the graduates of the Armavir Higher Military School of Pilots (AVVAKUL), the Fighterbomber Telegram-channel reported.
At the banquet in Armavir came 77 graduates of the school in 2003, who are now active pilots in serious positions and ranks. Unaware of what devilish “Trojan horse” was presented to them, the stunned gathered took selfies and shared photos in closed groups of their classmates with gratitude for the gift. At the same time, of course, everyone was curious to know who this generous donor of such a magnificent dessert and drinks was and to drink to his health. The banquet went on, but the names of the donors remained a mystery.
One of the responsible officers present at the banquet guessed to send to his superiors a photo of the courier from the video surveillance camera, who delivered the cake and alcohol to the restaurant. A quick check showed that the person who looked like the courier was a native of Melitopol. At the very time when his check was going on, he bought a ticket for a plane, but he managed to be detained before he left Russia.
“He immediately told everything,” writes Fighterbomber, “and about the cake with a potent poison and which bottles he added, and which were poisoned at once. And how he knew the number of guests and where the party would be held. Even the emblem of AVVAKUL was drawn actual. The cake was made from scratch in Armavir. Confectioners are being sought now.
The vigilance and conscientiousness of the officers saved them from disaster. The cake had already been cut, but the alcohol was not opened and they did not have time to consume it with the dessert.
Earlier, on 3 October, the Russian Investigative Committee charged the head of the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Kirill Budanov, in absentia with committing terrorist acts on the territory of Russia.
