Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov has instructed the General Staff to make proposals for measures to promptly respond to provocations increased intensity of flights of US strategic unmanned aerial vehicles over the waters of the Black Sea.
The defence ministry pointed out that such flights are carried out for reconnaissance and targeting precision weapons supplied to Ukraine’s armed forces by Western states to strike objects on Russian territory, including civilians and places where people gather.
“This shows the increasing involvement of the US and NATO countries in the conflict in Ukraine on the side of the Kiev regime. Such flights multiply the likelihood of airspace incidents with Russian Air and Space Force aircraft, which increases the risk of a direct confrontation between the alliance and Russian Federation. NATO countries will be responsible for this,” the defence ministry said.
Thus, on 27 June, after three hours of flight in the airspace of Romania and over the waters of the Black Sea, the RC-135W strategic electronic reconnaissance aircraft of the British Air Force was forced to abruptly abort its reconnaissance flight and leave for the base airfield for a number of alleged reasons, which could be “forceful influence” from the Su-30SM1 or Su-35S fighters of the Russian Air Force, or capture by the “Irbis-E” radar.
