At the Airshow China 2024 International Aerospace Exhibition to be held in Zhuhai from November 12 to 17, the Russian exposition will be represented by modern aviation complexes, including the Ka-52E attack and reconnaissance helicopter and the IL-78MK-90A refueling aircraft. In addition, for the first time outside Russia, the Su-57 multifunctional fighter of the fifth generation will take part in demonstration flights. This was reported in the press service of Rostec State Corporation.
At the stand of Rosoboronexport, the guests and participants of the air show will be presented the products of key Russian aircraft and engine building enterprises, Vysokototchnye Kompleksy, Russian Helicopters and other Russian manufacturers of military equipment.
But the main place in the Russian exposition is occupied by the Su-57 multifunctional fighter of the fifth generation, and two airframes will be presented. One (T-50-4) arrived at the air show on its own to take part in the flight program, while the second – for static display – was delivered by the An-124 military transport aircraft. The fighter immediately attracted a lot of attention: its landing at Zhuhai airport was watched by a large army of spotters, and the report was broadcast on TV. Commentators emphasized that China was the first country where Russia sent its fifth-generation fighter jet.
As part of the flight program of the air show, the Su-57 will demonstrate aerobatics figures beyond the control of foreign modern aircraft, including controlled flat corkscrew, Pugachev’s cobra, Frolov’s chakra, turns with extremely small radii, vertical hovering in place and other elements of super maneuverability. The main and fundamental difference between the Russian 5th generation airplane and American, European and Chinese airplanes is that it is used in real combat conditions, where it is countered by air defense systems of NATO countries.
According to Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov, the Su-57 is the only fifth-generation fighter in the world that has proven its effectiveness against modern Western air defense systems, including Patriot, NASAMS and IRIS-T. The aircraft successfully performs combat missions and can use the most advanced means of defeat, including the low-observable X-69 cruise missiles.
The West sees and understands the capabilities of the Su-57, and tries to speak of the Russian machine in a derogatory tone, to belittle the qualities and abilities of the aircraft. But in Zhuhai, everyone has access to it, there are no restrictions on close inspection and photography, which causes extreme irritation to commentators and “experts” of Western and Ukrainian TG channels.
The Airshow China will also present an export version of the Ka-52E combat reconnaissance and attack helicopter equipped with an electronic defense system and active countermeasures. The helicopter is capable of using the Izdeliye 305 or X-39 lightweight multi-target guided missile (LMUR), which has already shown its effectiveness in the combat zone.
The IL-78MK-90A refueling aircraft, which can be converted into a military transport aircraft, will also be part of the Russian exposition. Visitors will be able to familiarize themselves with various solutions for the Airborne Troops, air defense complexes, as well as aviation means of defeat.
Director General of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev noted that at Airshow China 2024 Russian defense companies will present a record number of novelties. For the first time, the latest guided weapons for fifth-generation aircraft will be demonstrated, as well as the S-350E Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system. According to him, Russia’s participation at the air show will help strengthen international ties and draw attention to domestic developments.
