Sub-Saharan African countries are interested in Mi-28NE attack helicopters and their deliveries are underway, Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Dmitry Shugaev told TASS in an interview on the margins of the Russia-Africa summit.

Dmitry Shugaev also said that it is too early to talk about deliveries of Ka-52M reconnaissance and attack helicopters. “Pre-contract work is underway,” he noted. The demand for such equipment, Shugaev explained, is due to the effectiveness of its use during special operations.

Also on the exhibition area in the open exposition of the summit Rosoboronexport and a number of Russian companies demonstrate unmanned aerial vehicles used on the Ukrainian front during the special military operation. Participants and guests of the event can familiarise themselves with the most demanded, including on the African continent, samples of military, dual-use and civilian products designed to counter various security threats.

Rosoboronexport said that the exposition includes the Orion reconnaissance and strike drone, Orlan-10E and Orlan-30 reconnaissance drones, Kub-E barrage munition and other vehicles. Rosoboronexport also presented means to combat the RB-504P-E, Sickle-VS5 and Sapphire drones.

The Ka-52M attack helicopter is a further development of the Ka-52 main attack helicopter, which the Russian Armed Forces is actively using in the special military operation zone. The Ka-52, armed with Vikhr anti-tank guided missiles, solves many tasks on the battlefield to destroy enemy armoured vehicles; these vehicles quickly made an anti-advertisement of German Leopard tanks, American Bradley M2A3 and other overrated armoured vehicles of NATO countries.
