Geoscan Group of Companies will organise a competition for young people on creation of drone show, which will be held in St. Petersburg on October 7 – 10, 2024 within the framework of the RoboFinist International Robotics Festival. This was reported in the press service of Geoscan Group of Companies.
“Participants will be asked to develop the concept of their show, pick up light and music accompaniment, as well as generate figures for the show with the help of special software. To realise the ideas, 16 Geoscan Pioneer Basic quadrocopters equipped with LED modules will be used,” the company representative said.
According to her, teams consisting of two to four children aged over 12 should pass a preliminary remote selection. The declared teams will create a 3D-animation in Blender, including the rotation of drones around a common centre and the construction of a geometric figure. Successful teams will be invited to St. Petersburg to present their projects to experts and guests of the festival.
The organisers will cover the costs of organising the festival, competitions, meals for participants and supervisors during the days of the event, prizes and gifts for participants.
Margarita Bakustina, Head of Youth Competitions of Geoscan Group of Companies, noted that the drone show is a promising and rapidly developing industry, which attracts the attention of schoolchildren and youth. The contest participants will get acquainted with the professions of UAV operator and light show designer, and the created projects can become the beginning of professional portfolio.
