Aviation plants in Irkutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Novosibirsk have doubled the production of Su-30SM and Su-35S fighters and Su-34 frontline bombers for deliveries to the Russian Ministry of Defence. This was announced by Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy Director General of Rostec State Corporation, in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“For some positions we have also doubled the number of combat aircraft we produce for the Ministry of Defence. These are such aircraft as Su-30, Su-34, Su-35 – they are very effective on the line of contact. We are ready to further increase volumes. Everything will depend on what the Ministry of Defence will order from us,” he said.

According to Vladimir Artyakov, the enterprises fulfil the state defence order in full, and for some items the deliveries are ahead of schedule and quantity. He specified that the issue is primarily armoured vehicles and artillery.

Earlier, in late June and early July, in Irkutsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, UAC delivered Su-35S and Su-30SM2 fighters to the Russian Armed Forces. The aircraft flew from the factory airfields to their home base.
