Within the framework of the INNOPROM-2023 forum in Ekaterinburg, Skolkovo resident Laboratory of the Future company is demonstrating a specialised quadrocopter Kanatokhod (Ropewalker) for diagnostics of high-voltage overhead lines, as well as two new platforms implemented within the framework of the technological sovereignty.
The complex allows monitoring, maintenance and local repair of high-voltage overhead lines under voltage, preserving stable power supply to consumers without putting operational personnel at risk. Visitors to the exhibition can familiarise themselves with the company’s solutions at the Sverdlovsk Region stand.
Laboratory of the Future has signed an agreement with the Sverdlovsk Enterprise of Trunk Power Grids to perform diagnostics of about 1000 kilometres of 220 and 500 kV lines, from Reftinskaya GRES to Nizhny Tagil. This is a significant amount of work, which will make it possible to perform a full range of measures to determine the current state of the main networks, to identify probable defects in a timely manner and to take this into account when forming plans for their maintenance and repair.
“Ropewalker” is able to perform fully in automatic mode visual and magnetic diagnostics of the condition of wires and cables of transmission lines, to carry out thermal imaging control of contact connections, to form a 3D-model of the line, to make local repairs of wires and cables, to apply protective compositions preventing the formation of ice and corrosion, as well as to install short-circuit signalling devices, signal balls, video surveillance systems and UAV charging stations from phase wires.
“The latter is a unique development of Future Lab, which allows unmanned aircraft systems to operate in autonomous mode without time and distance limitations from the launch point,” said Pavel Kamnev, the company’s commercial director.
