Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held a meeting with deputy prime ministers. During the meeting he reported, among other things, on the results of his visit to Kazan and the visit to Kazan Aircraft Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov.
Mikhail Mishustin noted the level of production and training of KAZ’s specialists, which allows to create reliable aircraft, demanded by the economy.
“Under external pressure, the aircraft industry needs special support. It is necessary to significantly increase the volume of production and reduce dependence on imported products. A comprehensive programme for aviation industry development was devised and approved under the Presidential instruction in 2022, according to which in 1.5 years’ time, by 2025, the Kazan plant should expand production of the main narrow-body Tu-214 aircraft to ten liners a year. Tu-214s are fully equipped with domestic components and will be supplied to airlines to replace their foreign counterparts,” said the Head of the Cabinet.
The Government of the Russian Federation will additionally allocate almost 42 billion rubles from the National Welfare Fund for technical re-equipment and an increase in the capacity of the enterprise as well as for personnel training. This will allow the plant to produce up to 20 cars a year.
Mikhail Mishustin emphasized the importance of strict adherence to deadlines for production and quality of aircraft. This work will be kept under special control by Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
