Pashkovsky airport is ready for possible resumption of work

Krasnodar International Airport (Pashkovsky) received a test flight of Azimut Airlines on a Superjet 100 aircraft from Mineralnye Vody. The test flight without passengers was planned by the working group of Rosaviatsia on the issues of ensuring the safety of regular flights of civil aircraft to the airport Pashkovsky, the press service of the department reported.

The flight was required to check the interaction of dispatch and airport services. In addition to the agency’s specialists, the working group includes representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the State Corporation for Air Traffic Control and Aerodynamika Holding, which manages the Krasnodar airport.

According to Dmitry Yadrov, head of Rosaviatsia, the test flight to the Kuban capital will allow to assess the readiness of dispatch, aerodrome and special services to service passenger flights. “Their work will be thoroughly analysed for final decision-making. Passenger safety is the top priority,” emphasised Dmitry Yadrov.

During the period of flight restrictions Pashkovsky does not stop its activities: the entire infrastructure is maintained in working order. Responsible services of the airport daily maintain flat structures, fulfil the requirements of aviation and transport security.

For full resumption of work at the airport, navigation for passengers with limited mobility, signage and markings in car parks have been updated, and work is underway to update navigation in the airport terminal. Professional skills of the airport staff are maintained through regular training, advanced training and internships in airports open for flights, noted the press service of Rosaviatsia.

To support the Krasnodar airport during its temporary closure, the Russian government, with the assistance of the Ministry of Transport, allocated 1.54 billion rubles in subsidies. The management company believes that the airport is ready to carry out all the work to prepare for the start of regular air traffic in due time.

The managing director of the airport Dmitry Kirichenko stated about the full readiness of Pashkovsky for the possible opening. He said that the entire infrastructure of the air harbour is in perfect condition.
