The State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) handed over to Polar Airlines another Mi-8MTV-1 (RA-22201) helicopter built at the Kazan Helicopter Plant. This is the second new helicopter of this type in the airline’s fleet, the carrier’s press service reported.

The Polar Airlines crew consisting of aircraft commander Sergei Durnov, co-pilot Alexei Murzin, flight mechanic Alexander Nikitin, as well as aviation engineering service specialists Radimir Nikolaev and Dmitry Syromyatnikov ferried the second new Mi-8 MTV1 helicopter from the Kazan Helicopter Plant.

At Magan airport, the flight was met by the airline’s management team. CEO Semyon Vinokurov thanked the crew for the successful ferrying of the aircraft.

In 2023, with the support of the Head and Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the airline purchased two helicopters under a financial leasing contract with GTLK. The helicopters will be used to perform urgent sanitary missions, socially important passenger transportation, as well as other types of commissioned work, such as extinguishing forest fires, search and rescue of citizens.

According to Rosaviatsia, the airline’s fleet includes one Mi-8, 11 Mi-8MTV-1 and 13 Mi-8T helicopters. Thus, the new helicopter that arrived in Magan became the twelfth Mi-8MTV-1 type machine.
