Rossia Airlines has replaced its flight service provider in Turkey instead of the operator Havas, which refused to cooperate with it, Alexei Tabakov, deputy director of the carrier’s commercial activity and external relations department, told reporters.
“Havas supported sanctions against Russian companies and refused to serve them for a number of reasons. We changed the service company,” he said.
According to him, the change of partner occurred in March. The new handler, whose name he did not specify, “does not adhere to restrictions and services our planes accordingly,” Tabakov added. According to him, now Rossia Airlines performs its own flights only to Antalya, they are organized by tour operator “Biblio Globus. In the future it is also planned to resume flights to Istanbul.
Interfax reports that Aeroflot also began using services of the new provider in Turkey instead of Havas in March.
Havas is Turkey’s largest provider of airport ground handling services. In February, the media reported that the company warned Russian, Belarusian and Iranian counterparties about the risks of terminating service to their Boeing and Airbus due to U.S. sanctions.
