On 24 September 2024, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) handed over another batch of Su-34 frontline bombers to the Russian Air and Space Forces. Before being handed over to the troops, the machines underwent a set of ground and flight tests, UAC said.

This is the fourth batch of Su-34s handed over to the troops in 2024. The aircraft were manufactured by the Novosibirsk Chkalov Aviation Plant (NAZ) as part of this year’s production programme.

Since the beginning of 2024, a total of four batches of Su-34s have been handed over. The first one was delivered to the Russian Air Force on 5 April, the second on 17 June, and the third on 2 September. Since 2022, the aircraft’s flight and registration numbers have been retouched on official photos and videos of the UAC transfer of aircraft to the Ministry of Defence. As of January 2024, the total number of Su-34 bombers built was 163 units, including seven prototype and pre-production aircraft.

The rhythm of deliveries of Su-34 frontline bombers speaks of the competently structured work of the aviation production in Novosibirsk in the interests of the Russian Armed Forces. The military plants participating in the co-operation for the supply of aggregates and components to the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant maintain the necessary production pace to fulfil their obligations under the state defence order to the military department in a timely manner. The rhythm and timeliness of deliveries were achieved by improving production processes and introducing new technologies.
