DSK-500 Industrial Technopark resident will produce in-house designed unmanned aerial vehicles made entirely of Russian components, the Tyumen Region Infrastructure Development Agency reports.

“The investor plans to relocate the existing production to the industrial technopark and scale the business on the 5,000-square-metre site. Domestic aircraft in Tyumen will be assembled entirely from Russian components using in-house developments, including software and equipment with additional radio-electronic protection. The Tyumen facility was also invited to become a resident of the Skolkovo Foundation,” says the report.

The cost of such drones is five times cheaper than their imported counterparts. “Drones are now in extremely high demand. The devices are needed both on the front line and in everyday life: for example, when patrolling forests, oil pipelines, and in logistics. To develop our enterprise and produce high-quality Tyumen products we want to use the state support – grants or micro-loans, to create about 100 jobs,” commented Sergey Pakhomov, the entrepreneur.

Olga Romanets, the General Director of the Tyumen Oblast Agency for Infrastructure Development, promised that the agency will provide the site necessary for drone production, as well as benefits and a deferral of rent payments.
