From 12 to 15 December 2023, representatives of Rosaviatsia conducted an inspection of the companies belonging to the ZALA group of companies. The inspection was related to the development of a new type of unmanned aerial vehicles Z-16. According to the results of the inspection, the compliance of the enterprises with the standards of the Federal Aviation Regulations and requirements for legal entities in the field of aviation activities was confirmed. This was reported in the press service of ZALA Aero Group.
The ZALA Z-16 UAV is an electric single-engine aircraft, designed as a “flying wing”. It is able to conduct round-the-clock reconnaissance and surveillance of the object, transmit high-resolution images in real time, operate at temperatures from -40 to +50 degrees Celsius. The Z-16 has a flight speed of 110 kilometres per hour.
It is the ideal solution for monitoring vast areas. With a flight time of more than four hours and the ability to operate in any weather, as well as the ability to be equipped with the most advanced payloads, make this model versatile for any task. The possibility of equipping with a video camera and high-resolution thermal imager provide Z-16 with the ability to conduct high-precision aerial photography, to work as a repeater, to determine objects and coordinates of surveillance, to collect, process and accumulate information.
When developing this model, designers and engineers of ZALA group paid special attention to ensuring its low acoustic and visual visibility. This is achieved by using advanced technologies and innovative solutions in the design. These include, for example, inbuilt noise suppression, the use of composite and special materials, and a carefully considered, simple yet innovative wing and fuselage design. The combination of reliability, ease of operation and modern technological solutions make the Z-16 model particularly sought after by security forces and specialised units.
“The ZALA Z-16 UAV is certified by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) and meets all requirements of aviation regulations. Inclusion of the drone in the operator’s certificate indicates that ZALA Aero Group meets high requirements in the field of organisation of flight operations and maintenance of airworthiness of unmanned aircraft,” the company said.
