Aeroflot Group has finalized the process of settling relations with lessor BOC Aviation on eight aircraft, as well as on one aircraft that is under the lessor’s management. Active negotiations are continuing with other lessors, the Group’s press service said.

“As a result of the agreements reached, the lessor has terminated its claims against the Russian parties, including insurance policies and leasing agreements with Pobeda Airlines LLC and Rossiya Airlines JSC. The ownership of the aircraft was transferred to the insurance company NSC, which paid the settlement amount,” Aeroflot added.

At the same time the group continues negotiations on settlement of existing claims with other lessors of foreign-made aircrafts, emphasized the representative of the company.

The reached agreements with the Irish lessor are the next step of Aeroflot group in exempting foreign aircrafts from double registration, which provides stability and improvement of the company’s financial position. Settlement of the lessors’ claims will allow Aeroflot to focus on its main tasks in developing the geography of international routes of its subsidiary airlines. This demonstrates the carrier’s commitment to a transparent and responsible business model, which in turn affects the group’s reputation and its attractiveness to potential investors and partners.
