The Sverdlovsk Regional State Expert Review Authority has approved the construction of a new assembly facility at the KRET (Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies) plant in the Sysertsky District. This project includes upgrading existing production capabilities to enable mass manufacture of avionics components for the MC-21, Superjet, and Tu-214 aircraft. The announcement was made by Rostec’s press service.
Following the positive expert assessment, the Sysertsky Municipal Administration granted the necessary construction permits. Construction is progressing on schedule. This facility is part of a nationwide initiative to modernize Russia’s aircraft production capacity, playing a crucial role in expanding manufacturing capabilities and strengthening technological independence.
The new plant will focus on producing avionics units — integral systems for flight control, navigation, and communication on these Russian-made aircraft. Bringing this facility online will significantly increase domestic production of these critical components.
A Rostec representative highlighted that the new facility will ensure reliable, high-volume deliveries of essential avionics equipment, supporting a steady and scalable increase in aircraft production aligned with industry goals.
Expanding avionics manufacturing at KRET’s Sysertsky site advances key objectives of Russia’s national aviation program and reinforces the aerospace sector at both the regional and national levels.
