The Federal Transport Supervision Service (Rostransnadzor) conducted an inspection against Azimut Airlines from 28 November to 11 December 2024 following an incident with a fuel fire on the concrete of the runway due to a rough landing at Antalya airport of an SSJ100 (RA-89085) flying flight A45051 from Sochi.
Based on the results of the inspection, Rostransnadzor issued five instructions to the airline, which relate to flight safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. The airline said that some of the identified violations have already been eliminated, but some still need to be finalised. A representative of Azimut confirmed that all remaining violations will be corrected within the deadline, which expires on 28 February 2025.
The airline’s press service also refuted accusations of concealing information about rough landings of its SSJ100 aircraft with excessive loads. Earlier it was reported about more than 20 cases of violations of the airworthiness maintenance rules of the airline’s aircraft and alleged attempts to conceal overload landings. Azimut representatives claim that all necessary information was provided to supervisory authorities in a timely and complete manner.
‘The information contained in the critical material about hiding SSJ100 landings with increased overload does not correspond to reality. The managers and specialists of Azimut Airlines provided all the necessary information,’ the press service said in a statement.
