In Zhukovsky on the prototype aircraft SJ-100 b / n 97021 began ground testing in preparation for certification flight tests. This is reported by TG-channel “Notes of aircraft builders”.
On 20 May, Yakovlev CEO Andrei Boginsky got acquainted with the progress of ground testing of the aircraft landing gear and held a meeting on the plan of the upcoming tests. Yakovlev engineers checked the operation of individual elements of the landing gear struts, as well as their release and retraction.
Before the start of certification flights, they will also test the doors and hatches of the aircraft, ensuring reliable sealing of the cabin, availability of quick evacuation in case of need. In addition, specialists will have to make sure that the cockpit instruments, indications and controls work correctly, as well as the mobility of the aircraft’s control surfaces: ailerons, rudders, flaps and wing flaps.
On the same day, Andrey Boginsky presented a new head to the staff of the Yakovlev Flight Test and Development Complex (FTC). The new head was Dmitry Panchugin, who previously held the position of Deputy Head of the Yakovlev Flight Test and Development Complex.
The SJ-100 prototype aircraft with the flight number 97021 (s/n 97001) arrived in Zhukovsky from Komsomolsk-on-Amur on 27 April 2024 after the completion of the programme of factory development tests.
To expedite certification and the flight test programme, this aircraft is fitted with French-Russian SaM146 engines. The rest of the key systems, including the avionics, landing gear, auxiliary power plant, integrated control system, and power supply system are already Russian.
