Leonardo air ticket booking system will be deployed in Venezuela

State Corporation Rostec is deploying in Venezuela airline ticket booking system Leonardo, developed by JSC Sirena Travel. This was announced by Co-Chairman of the Russian-Venezuelan Intergovernmental Commission, Venezuelan Oil Minister Pedro Tellechea at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

According to Pedro Tellechea, the Russian air transport registration system Leonardo will significantly improve flight safety and eliminate the threat of disconnection from the reservation systems by unfriendly states. The flagship carrier, Conviasa Airlines, will use AIS Leonardo.

The meeting also announced the launch of year-round package tours to Margarita Island by Russian tour operators and the expansion of cooperation between Aeroflot and Conviasa. In 2022, 12.7 thousand Russian tourists visited Venezuela, for January – May 2023 – 6.2 thousand, the tourist flow in this direction will grow, according to a press release on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Earlier it was reported that Aeroflot and Conviasa signed a memorandum of understanding on the development of codeshare flights during SPIEF-2023.
