Egyptian airline Red Sea Airlines has notified Rosaviatsia about the suspension of flights to Moscow for the period from September 8 to September 17, 2023. The suspension of flights is due to the carrier’s production needs.
Rosaviatsia will soon hold an operational meeting to ensure the transportation of Russian tourists who are in Sharm el-Sheikh and plan to fly to Egypt with the airline’s flights, the agency’s TG-channel said.
In this regard, passengers of Red Sea flights who are clients of Intourist tour operator for more detailed information Rosaviatsia recommends to contact the tour operator. With the participation of Intourist, Delta Service and representatives of Russian airlines will be discussed measures to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
According to Red Sea Airlines, the airline is ready to postpone the date of travel for passengers who are in Moscow to a later date. In case of passenger’s refusal from the flight, the carrier will compensate the cost of the ticket in full.
On September 6-7, due to aircraft malfunction Red Sea Airlines could not provide transportation of Russian tourists to Sharm el-Sheikh for almost two days. This is due to the fact that the carrier has only two aircrafts in its fleet, which were not ready for flights.
On September 7, the carrier resumed flights and transported Russian tourists from Egypt to Moscow, while the same aircraft delivered passengers stranded at Sheremetyevo to the Red Sea resort on the same day.
