The Russian Aerospace Forces’ tactical aviation fleet has expanded with the addition of new Su-34 strike fighters (NATO reporting name: Fullback). United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) delivered the aircraft to the Ministry of Defense as part of the 2025 state defense procurement program. The handover took place at the Chkalov Aircraft Plant in Novosibirsk on schedule and within specified quantities, UAC announced.

The new strike fighters completed comprehensive factory testing, including verification of onboard systems functionality and flight performance characteristics across various operational modes. The aircraft then flew to their permanent operating bases. Russian Aerospace Forces crews conducted the acceptance procedures and praised the aircraft’s maneuverability and handling characteristics.

The Su-34 is designed to engage diverse ground, surface, and airborne targets, including assets protected by air defense systems. The aircraft can operate at significant distances from its home base while maintaining effectiveness against both kinetic and electronic countermeasures. Its integrated systems enable mission execution during day and night operations, across varying weather conditions, and in different theaters of operations.

“Increased production and consistent Su-34 deliveries reflect our committed approach to modernizing the Aerospace Forces’ tactical aviation fleet. Beyond the Su-34 program, United Aircraft Corporation is preparing additional aircraft deliveries to the Ministry of Defense under the current armament program. These measures support the operational readiness and combat potential of the nation’s aviation forces,” UAC commented.

Specific quantities of delivered aircraft and serial production schedules remain classified. This delivery represents the third Su-34 batch received by the Russian Aerospace Forces in 2025. The Ministry of Defense took delivery of the first batch on April 19th and the second on July 10th.
