The United Engine Corporation has launched three new production facilities at the Samara-based UEC-Kuznetsov where it plans to double the output of components for the NK-32 series 02 engines and the RF product (izdelie RF engine). More than 4 billion rubles has been invested in their construction, the press service of UEC reported.

The implementation of the 40 billion-ruble investment program will significantly boost the capacities of the Samara-based engine-building company. Twelve new facilities have already been built and are operating, and another nine are in various stages of construction. After the commissioning of three new production sites with a total area of nearly 11 thousand square meters and construction of which cost over 4 billion rubles has been invested, the Samara plant will be able to double its output of engine parts with a considerably lower labor intensity.

All sections of the new production facilities are equipped with high-precision control equipment – coordinate measuring machines, magnetic particle and luminescent control, which allows the quality of the products to be monitored at all stages of production.

“By the end of 2022, the new areas will be used to manufacture parts for the aircraft, missile and “ground” programs of UEC-Kuznetsov. The introduction of the new production areas will have a positive impact on the production performance of our company,” said Alexander Artyukhov, CEO of ODK, at the opening ceremony.

The new 2.4 thousand square meters tooling production area will produce the tooling and tools for assembling the parts and units for a number of industrial engines as well as aircraft power plants NK-32 of 02 series, NK-12MP, NK-25 and a new high power product for long-range aviation complex (“RF product” for PAK DA).

The 3.9 thousand square meters welding enclosure accommodates nine sections with equipment, including robotic equipment that allows operators to automatically conduct soldering, welding and applying protective coatings. A 3D printing facility is built into the process chain to grow large items. The production is capable of processing more than 5.5 thousand parts and assemblies per year.

The second stage of compressor building with the area of 4.6 thousand square meters includes 11 areas, including machining of compressor parts, plasma and detonation spraying, quality control of parts. Turning and grinding machines, machining complexes, robotic sputtering units, magnetic particle and fluorescent control units were purchased to equip the section.
