The new Russian aircrafts MC-21 and SJ-100, which will be delivered to the Aeroflot Group’s fleet, are already under construction, and import-substituting units for these machines are being tested. Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, said.
“More than 10 aircraft – MC-21 and SJ-100 – for Aeroflot are already under construction, some machines are in a high degree of readiness. In parallel, tests of new systems and units are underway,” Rostec’s press service quoted him as saying.
Sergei Chemezov reminded that the timing of launching new models of domestic aircraft on the market has shifted “to the left” by a year. “If initially we were aiming for 2025, now large-scale deliveries should start in 2024,” he said.
The head of Rostec noted that the contracts signed in Vladivostok are the first under the deal to supply 339 aircraft to Aeroflot Group, and thanks to state support measures, the price of the aircraft for the carrier will be significantly lower than the cost of similar A and B aircraft, Sergey Chemezov emphasised.
