A crew of the high-tech reconnaissance UAV “Supercam-M350” detected a temporary deployment point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UFU) in the adjacent territory bordering the Belgorod region. The UAV operators constantly monitored the enemy’s movements and coordinated the fire of Russian artillery and tank crews.

As part of the combat operations, it was determined that the enemy was moving forces to a temporary holding point and also delivering ammunition to mortar positions. The information with the exact coordinates of the target was immediately transmitted to the command, allowing concentrated artillery fire to successfully prevent the rotation of the Ukrainian unit.

Unmanned aerial vehicles play a key role in monitoring enemy movements in border areas. The main advantage of the Supercam is that it is highly protected against electronic jamming and is equipped with high-resolution video and thermal imaging cameras, making it an effective reconnaissance tool.

The Supercam UAV is manufactured by the Unmanned Systems Group of Companies, based in Izhevsk, Russia’s defence capital. The drone is positioned as a tool for surveillance and reconnaissance, protection of state borders, monitoring of fuel and energy facilities, as well as other tasks in the civilian sector. Using cameras, video cameras and thermal imagers, the Supercam can produce highly accurate 3D terrain models and photomaps. However, since the inception of the Strategic Defence Forces, this civilian UAV has also found military applications, particularly in anti-battery warfare and artillery fire correction.
