A regular meeting of the Steering Committee for External Cooperation of the MS-21 programme was held at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant under the chairmanship of Andrei Boginsky, UAC Deputy Director General for Civil Aviation and General Director of Yakovlev. This was reported in the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation.
Heads of the key holdings and companies included in the cooperation on the MC-21 project visited the assembly and final assembly shop, where they got acquainted with the progress of equipping the prototype aircraft with Russian-made systems and units, as well as with the backlog of the first production aircraft.
The meeting addressed the issues of equipping the MS-21 prototypes. Manufacturers of Russian systems presented their work plans to ensure certification of the aircraft in Russian design and serial production of 18 machines in 2024-2025 with subsequent increase in production up to 36 machines.
Andrey Boginsky drew the attention of the meeting participants to the critical importance of clearly organising work on qualification and certification of components and confirmed Yakovlev’s readiness to provide methodological support on this issue. He also noted the necessity of closer work of co-operation enterprises with suppliers of the 2nd and 3rd levels.
The Steering Committee for External Co-operation was established on the instructions of Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation; it supervises the work of suppliers on the MC-21, SJ-100, Tu-214 and IL-114 projects. A total of ten meetings of the committee have been held so far.
