The Russian defence industry has deployed full-fledged serial production of hypersonic aeroballistic missiles Kinzhal, which are used in the special military operation in Ukraine, said First Deputy Director General of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov in an interview with the TV channel Russia 24.
“Today we are mass-producing the Kinzhal. If earlier we released it in order to further modernise it and finish R&D, today we have gone into solid production. And what the Ministry of Defence asks from us, we do it to them qualitatively and on time, in the quantity and volume that is necessary,” he said.
Vladimir Artyakov noted that no country can counter such a weapon as the Dagger today. This missile can neither be tracked nor shot down. “And this is confirmed by the fact that the American Patriot MANPADS system was caught up and destroyed precisely by the Kinzhal,” he said.
On 17 May, the Russian military said that there is confirmed data according to which a radar station and five launchers of the Patriot air defence system were completely destroyed by a strike of a Kinzhal aeroballistic missile in Kiev on 16 May. The US media later claimed that Patriot had retained its combat capability.
