The fly testing of the SJ-100 aircraft (registration number 97021) are ongoing. Concurrently with the refinement tests, certification tests are also being carried out. The equipment, navigation systems, and aircraft systems are being tested.
On December 23rd, a crew consisting of the distinguished test pilot Leonid Chikunov and the expert pilot Mikhail Trubnikov conducted a flight as part of additional certification testing to assess the stability and handling characteristics at maximum and minimum flight speeds, including with extended and retracted flaps, and with the landing gear both down and up.
Additionally, the stability and handling characteristics were evaluated in the yaw, pitch, and roll axes with one engine shut off.
According to the crew’s assessment, the aircraft demonstrated good stability and controllability. Precise quantitative assessments will be provided following an analysis of the objective control data.
