Yakovlev has moved a third serial-production MC-21-310 airliner, manufacturer’s serial number MC.0016, to the flight-test division at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAP), marking further progress in preparing aircraft for Aeroflot deliveries.

The aircraft has completed a fuel-tank leak test, with functional checks of the fuel system next in the ground-test programme. It will then undergo further ground testing before beginning flight trials.

The second production aircraft, MC.0015, is already undergoing ground tests at the flight-test station. Testing covers its onboard systems and engines, with flight trials scheduled to begin in late October. The fourth aircraft, MC.0017, is expected to arrive at the station in October.

Yakovlev aims to have the first four production aircraft at the flight-test station by the end of 2026. The first aircraft, MC.0014 (registration 73362), was transferred to the company’s Flight Test and Development Complex at Zhukovsky during the summer. The remaining aircraft are progressing through the factory test sequence at Irkutsk.

All four aircraft form part of a contract for 18 MC-21-310s intended for Aeroflot. Delivery to the customer depends on completion of the required certification procedures and documentation. The current programme therefore remains focused on bringing the initial production aircraft through ground and flight testing before handover.
