Changing the name of the SSJ100/SSJ-New aircraft will require routine technical work to correct type certificates and additions to them. Denis Manturov, deputy prime minister and head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, told RIA Novosti.

Answering the question whether the Russian version of the aircraft is not a good reason to change the name, he said that on the one hand – there are such thoughts, on the other – this procedure is associated with the technical work of the aviation authorities.

“It will be necessary to go through routine procedures, including those type certificates, which were previously obtained for the basic version, and those versions that have been added to this certificate for more than a decade,” said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Denis Manturov did not rule out that this would make sense. “But we have to weigh up all the advantages and difficulties involved,” he explained.
