Aeroflot Technics has been authorised to perform operational maintenance of Boeing 787 aircraft

As part of the certification of its operations, maintenance and repair (MRO) provider Aeroflot Technics has successfully passed the Rosaviatsia audit and received approval in accordance with FAP-109 for operational maintenance of Boeing 787 aircraft at Sheremetyevo Airport. The certificate allows the company to ensure the performance of flights of foreign airlines to Moscow on this type of aircraft. This was reported in the press service of Aeroflot Technics.

Rosaviatsia specialists inspected the work processes, professional training of employees and internal regulatory documents of the organisation. Production and warehouse areas, as well as office premises were inspected. As a result of the audit, Aeroflot Technics confirmed its compliance with the requirements of the updated Federal Aviation Regulations, which allows the company to perform operational maintenance of Boeing 787 aircraft, including the elimination of technical failures of aircraft and engines.

In February this year, Aeroflot completed the formation of the largest MRO enterprise in Russia and Eastern Europe on the basis of its subsidiary provider Aeroflot Technics. The company provides operational and periodic maintenance services for Boeing 737, Boeing 747, Boeing 777, Boeing 787, Airbus A350, Airbus A330, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A320ceo and Superjet 100 aircraft. It is the only organisation in Russia with competence in heavy maintenance of Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 aircraft, as well as periodic maintenance of Airbus A350 aircraft.

Aeroflot Technics has hangar complexes at Sheremetyevo and Orenburg airports, as well as line stations in Belgorod, Vladivostok, Voronezh, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Mineralnye Vody, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Saratov, Sochi, Stavropol, Ufa and Khabarovsk. The area of hangars can accommodate up to 19 aircraft at a time, including wide-body aircraft.

The Company is able to provide simultaneous technical support for more than 300 Aeroflot Group aircraft, excluding aircraft that are supported independently by the maintenance division of Rossiya Airlines. By the end of 2023, the Company’s engineering and technical personnel performed more than 2.5 million man-hours of work, and the total number of employees is more than 2,600 people.
