The An-24 (RA-47821) of Polar Airlines that landed on the ice of the Kolyma River in the Yakutsk settlement of Zyryanka on 28 December, which is located in close proximity to the runway, has been moved to the airport for parking. No one was injured during the landing. On the same day on another An-24 aircraft passengers flew to Srednekolymsk, the press service of Rosaviatsia reported.
Employees of Zyryanka airport and Polar Airlines participated in the towing on 29 December. Tractors were provided by the Yakutsk state enterprise Roads of the Arctic.
By order of Oleg Voroshilov, head of the Sakha (Yakutia) MTU of Rosaviatsia, a commission was set up to investigate the causes of the serious aviation incident. According to him, the on-board parametric and voice recorders from the aircraft will be delivered to Yakutsk to take down the information. The crew has been suspended from flights during the investigation into the causes of the abnormal landing on the river ice to the right of the runway.
“In early January 2024 to assess the technical condition of the An-24, a team of specialists will be formed. According to preliminary data, the condition of the An-24 is good, including aircraft tyres. Zyryanka airport did not stop regular work. On 29 December it served one flight,” specified in Rosaviatsia.
