BAS-80 Kamikaze drones with folding consoles and plumage, assembled from composite materials, have been handed over for testing in the special operation zone in Ukraine, managing director of the Magnitogorsk-based UAV developer Android Technics Evgeny Dudorov told RIA Novosti in an interview.

“We handed over a couple of our BAS-80s to the Tsar’s Wolves so that our colleagues could find the best ways to use it during pilot combat operations and also recommend which components are better to install based on the operating conditions,” he said.

Dudorov noted that due to the use of composite materials, the BAS-80 has been made as light and compact as possible. The weight of the drone is 1700 grams, thanks to the design of the folding wing and plumage it can be placed in a tube, in which it is carried by the operator.

The drone is launched by ignition of the starting powder charge. The payload of the BAS-80 is 500 grams, with the possibility of increasing it to 2 kilograms.

According to Evgeny Dudorov, the tests of the kamikaze drone are going well. During them BAS-80 confirmed its technical characteristics: maximum flight speed – up to 130 kilometres per hour, flight height – up to 200 metres, range – up to 30 kilometres.

Androidnaya Technics was established in 2009. The company serially manufactures high-torque permanent magnet synchronous electric motors of AT Drive series in cased and uncased versions with power from 60 W to 1 kW.

At the Army-2023 forum the company presented its new initiative development – unmanned aircraft system BAS-80.

The Tsar Wolves group, headed by Dmitry Rogozin, provides military-technical assistance to the units of the LNR and DNR. The advisers work closely with developers of various military equipment and complexes, the main task being the operational introduction of new samples as part of special operations.
