Far East airline Aurora will receive 95 LMS-901 Baikal airplanes on lease

Within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), Aurora Airlines and the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) signed in Vladivostok a letter of intent for the delivery of 95 new light-engine airplanes Baikal. This was reported in the press service of GTLK.

It is planned that the planes will join the fleet of the United Far East airline in 2026-2030 and will be made in various configurations for passenger, transportation, airborne forestry, sanaviation. After a number of necessary procedures, firm contracts for the delivery of the aircraft will be concluded.

“New light universal Baikal airplanes will replace obsolete An-2, which now make up almost half of the fleet on local airlines of the Far East. Baikals will provide a fundamentally new level of comfort and safety for passengers, as well as better economics of transportation. The delivery of GTLK will allow to expand the route network operating in the Far East, improve the quality of aviation services and increase passenger traffic,” emphasized Evgeny Dietrich, General Director of GTLK.

According to Sergey Fedorov, General Director of UZGA, serial production of LMS-901 Baikal aircraft will be organized at the plant’s new production site in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
