A special machinery division has been created within the Kalashnikov concern. The main task of the new division is to produce complexes with guided barrage ammunition designed for high-precision destruction of remote individual and group ground targets of the enemy. This was reported by the concern’s press service.
In addition to the UAVs themselves, the division will produce ground-based launch vehicles, control and verification machines, mobile control points from the composition of complexes for adjusting the firing of high-precision ammunition, and means for servicing special-purpose equipment. Scientific research and design work in various directions will also be carried out in the division.
“After the planned technical re-equipment this year, in the next 2024, we will be able to increase the number of UAVs produced in our traditional niche – barrage ammunition and reconnaissance drones – several times,” commented Alan Lushnikov, President of Kalashnikov.
He explained that he cannot announce the exact amount and volumes of production, but the increase in the production of all special equipment will be multiple.
The head of the concern also announced that Kalashnikov is working on creating a new barrage ammunition. “We are working in this direction, I cannot disclose the details,” said Alan Lushnikov. He clarified that the development is being carried out taking into account the experience of using the Lancet kamikaze drone during military operations.
The Lancet barrage ammunition has been created and produced by the ZALA AERO group of companies based in Izhevsk. Since January 2015, it has been part of the Kalashnikov concern.
