Smolensk-based Izmeritel Research and Production Enterprise, part of the Radioelectronic Technologies Concern, is demonstrating its products in the field of on-board recorders of speech and parametric information at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The company is presenting a modern protected emergency on-board storage device, which is installed on civil aircraft and helicopters. The demonstration of the product will be held at the stand of the Smolensk region, the KRET press service reported.

The delegation of the Smolensk region headed by Governor Vasily Anokhin will take an active part in the forum. Alexey Streltsov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Smolensk Region, noted that the region’s stand provides for the demonstration of the industrial complex achievements, where the airborne “recorder” of one of the leading instrument-making enterprises of the Smolensk Region, JSC “NPP “Izmeritel”, took its place.

Izmeritel manufactures modern recording and control equipment for aircraft, including flight data recorders (“black boxes”) for domestic aeroplanes and helicopters. These devices include functions of collection, registration of parametric and audio information.

Especially for SPIEF, the company presents a black box with solid-state memory developed under the Federal Target Programme for the Development of Civil Aviation of the Russian Federation. The device is a part of the on-board registration and control system “ICBO-IMA” and is the basis for a new line of protected on-board storage devices installed on modern aircraft.

Oleg Stolyarov, Technical Director of NPP Izmeritel JSC, stressed that onboard storage devices must withstand huge overloads, high temperatures and static pressure under water at a depth of several kilometres.

“These factors should not have any effect on the miniature chip on which flight information is recorded. Today, along with serial production, Izmeritel is developing a new generation of protected emergency onboard storage devices, including for domestic import-substituted civil aircraft,” Stolyarov said.
