The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has issued a certificate of manufacturer of on-board radio-electronic equipment for passenger aircraft to Ramenskoye Instrument-Making Plant (RPZ). The licence will allow to increase the share of civilian products in the total order portfolio of RPZ, which has already mastered the production of high-precision navigation sensor RMI-3 designed for Il-96, Tu-214 and Be-200 aircraft. This was reported in the press service of the concern “Radioelectronic Technologies” (KRET), which includes RPZ.

“The Rosaviatsia certificate confirms RPZ’s compliance with the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations and certifies its status as a manufacturer of products for civil aviation. It is indefinite, provided that the necessary conditions for production activities are met,” commented KRET.

Roman Solomin, General Director of RPZ, noted that the issuance of the licence by Rosaviatsia is a recognition of the company’s compliance with modern requirements of civil aircraft construction. This will allow the plant to expand its order portfolio and occupy its niche in the production organisation of products for civil aviation.

The radio magnetic indicator RMI-3 is designed to determine the magnetic heading and location of the aircraft relative to radio beacons. This device is used as a backup method of navigation and remains relevant even with the wide use of satellite and inertial navigation. Orientation by radio beacons increases flight safety.
