The construction of the SSJ-New prototypes and the first production models of the regional aircraft continues at the Regional Aircraft Production Centre in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Images from the workshops of the aircraft factory were shown in the programme “Vesti. Khabarovsk’ TV channel “Russia 1”.

Currently, the assembly of airborne systems and cabling is being completed on the first flight model of the aircraft with serial number 97001. It carries the landing gear, French-Russian SaM146 engines and a domestic TA18-100C auxiliary power unit. In March, the aircraft is scheduled to be put under power and will be handed over to the flight-testing station after the shop checks.

The SSJ100 prototype aircraft (95157) is also in the final assembly hall and will undergo flight certification tests of the PD-8 engines. To enable the refurbished aircraft to take off, the pylons need to be replaced and the engine management system needs to be updated, with the first complete set to be delivered to Komsomolsk-on-Amur in May-June.

The second flying SSJ-New (97003) is completed with the docked airframe and the assembly of the airborne systems is in progress. The aircraft will also be fitted with Russian engines this summer.

The first production SSJ-New (97004) will be built using the fuselage from the SSJ100 stock, which was left at the plant after the construction of the SuperJets in a foreign guise. The fuselage will undergo necessary modifications and a new wing will be docked to it. This, as well as board 97005, is expected to be ready for delivery to the customer by the end of this year.

Early February, it was reported that the docking of the first production SSJ-New aircraft (97101) of the new type was completed. The fuselage has been relocated to the second production area.

According to the Comprehensive Aircraft Industry Development Program through 2030, 20 new Superjets are to be built at the Irkutsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur by 2024. In total, the plant will produce 142 regional jets in eight years.
