November 4, 2024 Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed UAC head Yury Slyusar as acting governor of the Rostov region. The President signed the corresponding decree. This is reported on the website kremlin.ru.

The proposal to head the region received Yuri Slyusar from the head of state in connection with the statement of the Governor of the Rostov region Golubev V.Y. on early termination of powers. Vladimir Putin accepted Golubev’s resignation at his own request. The Russian president met with the former UAC CEO in the Kremlin and offered him to work in his new position.

“We have known you for a long time, and with full confidence I can say that you have done a lot for the development of aviation, the aviation-industrial complex as a whole. There is a proposal to expand your area of responsibility and work in Rostov, Rostov region from another level,” Putin said, inquiring about Slyusar’s opinion on the proposal to become interim head of Rostov region.

Yuri Slyusar thanked the President for his trust and noted that it was an opportunity to return to his small homeland, heading the region in a difficult period for the country. He also expressed his gratitude to Vladimir Putin for his support in the position of UAC CEO.

“I very much hope that in my new capacity, as the head of the region, a strategically important region, I can also count on your help and support, the support of the people of the Don, the support of our current, promising projects. Thank you very much for this offer. I will try not to let you down,” Slyusar said.

The Vedomosti newspaper reported that Vadim Badekha will become the new CEO of UAC instead of Yuri Slyusar. He currently holds the position of CEO of the United Engine Corporation.
