The Urals Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) is developing a comprehensive after-sales service system for Russian regional aircraft, which are being designed and will be manufactured at the plant’s facilities and in partnership with Belarus. This was announced by UZGA’s press office.
The project encompasses the supply of spare parts, engine and propeller overhauls, and aircraft maintenance for the LMS-901 “Baikal”, LMS-192 “Osvey”, and TVRS-44 “Ladoga” aircraft. Customers will have access to a 24/7 support centre, operating on a “single point of contact” basis.
“The plant is paying particular attention to the training of aviation personnel for the new aircraft types. Thanks to an interactive hardware and software suite, the process of initial and recurrent training for aviation specialists and civil aviation pilots will be as efficient as possible, helping them to master new types of equipment more quickly and to practice interaction procedures with aircraft systems,” UZGA stated.
The interactive training hardware and software suite for the LMS-901 “Baikal” aircraft will utilise electronic learning materials, knowledge assessment tools and interactive mock-ups of equipment for training specialists. Educational films and electronic interactive mock-ups of the equipment used on the aircraft, to rehearse pilot interaction procedures with the main systems, will help to improve the assimilation and retention of the information learned.
The first after-sales service centres will open in Yekaterinburg and Ulyanovsk. Their geographical coverage will subsequently be expanded, with new facilities appearing in the regions where UZGA-manufactured aircraft will be based. In Yekaterinburg, they believe that this approach will allow them to respond promptly to operator requests and minimise aircraft downtime.
The UZGA project aims to create a closed-loop support system for Russian airlines. This comprehensive service will reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and enhance the reliability of regional aircraft operations, emphasised the Urals aviation plant representative.
