The first flight of the MS-21-310 aircraft b/n 73055 (MS.0012) in a partially import-substitution look will take place by the end of June, and in a fully import-substitution look by the end of November this year. This was announced by Anatoly Gaidansky, First Deputy Director General of PJSC Yakovlev, at a meeting of the Steering Committee for External Cooperation on the MS-21 project, according to the Notes of Aircraft Builders TG channel.

He noted that in order to meet these deadlines it is necessary to ensure the coordinated work of suppliers at all levels. According to Anatoly Gaidansky, the elimination of notes and the finalisation of the software are ongoing, while the main work on the power supply system is continuing.

“Now that the machine is powered up, the main work is being done on the power supply system. Remarks are being eliminated and software is being finalised in terms of interaction between the SES and the board,” he said.

In May, when this work has been completed, a delegation of designers will be sent to the aircraft factory in Irkutsk to prepare the aircraft for independent inspection and transfer to the flight test facility. The first flight is scheduled for 30 June. “Based on the current state of the work – it is a tight schedule, but feasible,” said Anatoly Gaidansky.

The flight of the prototype MS-21-310 73057 (MC.0013) in a fully imported design is scheduled for the end of November. The Yakovlev team and equipment suppliers have a lot of work to do to get the aircraft ready for flight, Gaidansky added.

Participants at the meeting also discussed issues related to the completion of the MS-21 aircraft prototypes, as well as issues related to the upcoming certification of Russian systems and units and their delivery to the production aircraft. Yakovlev CEO Andrei Bog
