One of the components of Russia’s technological sovereignty, which requires a systematic approach, is the development and rapid introduction of modern materials, technologies and technical solutions into final products. The business program of the AMTEXPO-2024 forum-exhibition of new materials and technologies will focus on the formation of the national project “New Materials and Chemistry” and related federal initiatives.

In particular, federal projects such as “Development of Chemical Production”, “Development of Composite Materials Production” and “Mining and Production of Rare and Rare Earth Metals” are being realized within the framework of the project. The tasks of realization of the “road map” in the sphere of high technologies, including the direction to the development of composites, polymers, additive technologies, rare and rare-earth metals, as well as digital materials science, will also be discussed.

The key event of the forum will be the plenary session “New materials and technologies as the basis of technological sovereignty”. The session will be attended by a number of industry experts, including Anatoly Gaidansky, General Director of AeroComposite, First Deputy General Director of PJSC Yakovlev. He will present details of the import substitution process in the aircraft industry and talk about the replacement of imported materials and equipment in the MC-21 aircraft.

“The work on import substitution of new materials and equipment for Russia’s flagship MC-21 project continues. In the shortest possible time we replaced imported composite materials in the wing and other units. At the end of 2022, we received approval from Rosaviatsia for major changes to the aircraft’s standard design. Last year, within the framework of equipment import substitution, we created a prototype of a dry automated carbon fiber lay-up robot to create the wing of MC-21,” Anatoly Gaidansky commented to the organizers of AMTEXPO-2024 on his upcoming speech at the plenary session.

He emphasized that today the domestic technology of lay-up is fully developed, “AeroComposite” has achieved high quality, speed and reliability of the system. With the introduction of the Russian robotic complex, the Russian civil aviation industry becomes import-independent not only in terms of materials, but also in terms of basic technological equipment, A. Gaidansky noted, adding that the plans for the near future include scaling of this solution for serial production of 36 MC-21 airplanes per year.

Forum-exhibition of new materials and technologies AMTEXPO-2024 will be held on November 19-21, 2024 in Technopark Skolkovo. Among the invited speakers are Andrey Shevchenko, Director for Technological Development of Rosatom State Corporation; Olga Ospennikova, Executive Director of the Association for the Development of Additive Technologies, Advisor to the President of TVEL, PhD; Azat Gubaidullin, Director of TATNEFT-PRESCOMPOZIT; and Pavel Cherenkov, General Director of Sitronics Space. The event will be held with the participation of representatives of the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
