Aeroflot results for April and four months of 2023

In April 2023 the total passenger traffic amounted to 3.4 million passengers, an increase of 55.4% compared to the same period in 2022, including 2.7 million passengers transported on domestic routes, which is 31.7% higher than in 2022.

Aeroflot’s press service noted the traditional month-on-month increase in passenger traffic: 3.3 and 3.0 million passengers were carried in March and February 2023 respectively. The number of passengers has also increased by 12.1% as compared to April 2021 on the whole network, while the number of domestic flights increased by 5.6% compared to April 2021.

Passenger turnover increased by 71.4% compared to the same period of 2022, while the passenger load limit increased by 63.0%. Seat occupancy remained at record levels, seasonally adjusted, at 86.8%, an increase of 4.2 p.p. over the same period in 2022; on domestic routes at 89.5%, an increase of 6.3 p.p.

Aeroflot’s passenger traffic almost doubled to 1.8 million passengers compared to the same period of 2022. Of this number, 1.3 million passengers were transported on domestic routes. Passenger traffic has grown 2.2 times.

The hub in Krasnoyarsk and the regional base in Sochi continue to develop. Based on the results for the first four months of 2023, the Krasnoyarsk hub operations serviced 181,500 passengers, which is 2.3 times higher than in 2022; the seat occupancy rate was 81.0%, which is 15.1 p.p. higher than in the same period last year.

Passenger traffic base in Sochi on flights operated by network airlines totalled 287,900 passengers, 3.6 times higher than in the same period of 2022; seat occupancy reached 82.5%, an increase of 15.6 p.p. year-on-year.
