Navigator Institute of Aviation Instrument Engineering (Navigator JSC) has announced that it has received a certificate of conformity for the SO-2020 aircraft ATC addressable transponder, reports Mashnews.

The document confirms that the St Petersburg-based company’s transponder can be installed on civil aircraft. Representatives of the company noted that the product fully complies with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The SO-2020 ATC addressable transponder is designed for use in both domestic and international secondary radar systems (SRS). It can also be used as an on-board transmitter in the ADS-B system. The product provides standard (ELS) and enhanced (EHS) S-mode surveillance in accordance with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements.

“One of the advantages of the Responder is its design, which eliminates the need for additional blowing and the use of shock absorbers. In addition, a remote control version of the Responder is available via an ARINC 429 interface. This means that the device can be easily integrated into existing aviation systems,” says Navigator JSC.

The product will be installed on new domestic aircraft to replace foreign equipment no longer supplied to Russia.
