The Izhevsk Unmanned Systems Research and Production Association (NPO IzhBS LLC), a part of the Kalashnikov Concern, continues to develop its production capacities against the backdrop of the growing state defence order. In 2024, the company plans to increase production of unmanned aerial vehicles tenfold compared to the previous year. In 2025, the company plans to further increase production volumes, with new promising developments accounting for more than 50% of the total plan, the concern’s press service said.

Taking into account the experience of UAV application in the special military operation zone, the developers of NPO IzhBS are working on the improvement of the products. Specialists are engaged in refining existing models in order to improve their combat potential, as well as conducting research and development work to create new products. Current activities are aimed at developing technologies and improving designs to increase the reliability and efficiency of UAV use.

“The growth in production volumes is due to the commissioning of a new workshop with an area of several thousand square metres. The technological complex includes production and assembly areas, as well as a design bureau, where specialists work on analysing and designing new models of equipment. “The significant expansion of production is the result of investments in the company’s infrastructure,” Kalashnikov said.

At the same time, the concern is training new specialists at its own base to ensure qualitative and timely fulfilment of the state defence order. Expansion of the staff is necessary to meet the growing production capacity. NPO IzhBS also introduces innovative technologies and improves production processes, which makes it possible to optimise costs and increase overall production efficiency. The strategic development of the company also includes forming partnerships with scientific and educational institutions to apply advanced research and training.

“The development of NPO Izhevsk Unmanned Systems is directly related to the interests of state security and national defence capability. Introduction of new UAV models ensures high operational readiness and efficiency of military operations. The growth of UAV production is a strategic direction of Kalashnikov Concern’s development, which ensures long-term prospects and sustainable development,” said the Concern’s representative.
