In December 2023, Kalashnikov Concern started deliveries of an updated version of the KUB strike drone designed for use in the special military operation zone. The new modification of the device features enhanced combat capabilities to hit various targets, including armoured vehicles, command posts, as well as air defence and electronic warfare facilities. Concern’s General Director Alan Lushnikov told TASS in an interview how the modification differs from previous versions.

Over the past year, the concern has significantly increased the production of KUB kamikaze drones, it has increased almost tenfold. This allowed to significantly expand the opportunities for the use of drones in various areas of the special military operation.

According to Alan Lushnikov, new models have also been developed to expand the range of these strike UAVs. One of such innovations is the KUB-10E model, which, in addition to increased combat capability, has a number of design and functional improvements.

KUB-10E is positioned as an attack drone designed to hit a wide range of targets, including unarmoured and lightly armoured military equipment, command posts, air defence and missile defence elements. The list of targets also includes radio-technical reconnaissance, electronic warfare, logistics facilities, field depots of ammunition and fuel and lubricants, as well as UAV launch positions, aircraft and helicopters on open airfields.

The range and combat capability of the new guided munition significantly exceeds the previous models of the range. The guidance method is based on the specified coordinates received from global navigation satellite systems. The drone takes off using a catapult with the possibility of using various platforms.

The drone can be used at any time of the day and under various weather conditions, including wind with gusts up to 15 m/s and ambient temperature from -30°C to +40°C. Cruising speed is 100 km/h and the altitude range varies from 100 to 2,500 metres.
