At the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), Yury Slyusar, United Aircraft Corporation CEO, said that Red Wings Airlines will become the first customer for the IL-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft.

Slyusar pointed out that Red Wings is the launch customer using an innovative operating model for these aircraft. Currently, a firm contract has been signed for the delivery of the first three serial Il-114-300 aircraft in 2026. Also during the preparation of the investment project passport for 2026, the possibility of the airline purchasing eight of the twelve aircraft scheduled for production in 2027 is being discussed.

The head of UAC stressed that Red Wings is part of the “UAC perimeter”, but at the same time retains its independence in making decisions on the purchase of IL-114-300, which allows UAC to count on cooperation with a reliable partner to finalise and eliminate the initial limitations typical of the initial stage of operation of new aircraft.

In the comprehensive programme for the development of the aviation industry adopted by the Russian government in May 2024, it is planned to start deliveries of IL-114-300 aircraft from 2026. A total of 51 aircraft are expected to be delivered to customers by 2030, instead of the previously planned 70. At the same time, annual production and deliveries in 2027-2030 should be at least 12 aircraft.
