The Su-57 with flight number 054, a prototype of the T-50-4 PAK FA, has arrived at the Airshow China 2024 International Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai. This is the first overseas tour of the Russian 5th generation fighter jet.
The event generated a lot of interest in China, where the arrival of the Su-57 was broadcast by many TV channels. Commentators emphasized that China was the first country to which Russia sent its fifth-generation fighter. The vehicle is equipped with first-stage AL-41F1 engines (product 117), the standard onboard radar system N036 Belka, including X-band AFAR modules N036B-1-01L and N036B-1-01B for side hemisphere surveillance with a 30-45-degree sector of coverage of the rear hemisphere. Flight 054 performed its first flight on December 12, 2012 in Kosomolsk-on-Amur.
Increased interest is expected for Airshow China 2024, which opens on November 12 and runs for five days. China is saying:
“The Su-57 flew to Zhuhai as the most experienced specimen, with all modifications carried out based on the results of actual practical operations, not according to fashion trends. And although we believe that our Black Eagle (Chengdu J-20) is not inferior to the aircraft of our Russian partners, we need to learn from them all possible unique experience that their stealth has received”.
The Russian exposition occupies one of the central places at the Zhuhai Airshow. More than 50 Russian defense industry enterprises will demonstrate their export products. The largest exposition, as usual, belongs to Chinese companies.
