The integrated security system includes radiation monitoring tools, video surveillance and innovative technology.

The 392 video cameras installed not only along the perimeter of the airport terminal, but also inside the building cover the common areas, lifts, staircases and telescopic gangways. At a height of 16 metres below the roof, rotary cameras with a viewing angle of up to 360 degrees provide surveillance of the aircraft parking area.

In addition to the usual screening equipment, the entrances are also equipped with radiation detection devices. If an attempt is made to enter a building with radioactive material, an alarm is triggered and a video is recorded. The images are transmitted to the transport security control centre for prompt action.

The airport terminal is equipped with a comprehensive entrance door management system that provides reliable protection against unauthorised access. Entrance for luggage trolleys is equipped with RFID tags. They read the approach of the train and automatically open the gate. This speeds up loading and unloading of luggage, and adds convenience for drivers in winter time.

Security alarms respond to possible intrusion attempts and panic buttons have been placed on each floor of the air terminal, providing a quick link to the police line department for a quick response to any emergency situation.

“We strive to provide passengers and staff with the safest possible environment in the terminal. The integrated system meets all the standards of the modern aviation industry,” commented Igor Konushkin, Deputy General Director of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Air Terminal JSC.
